Zines. Zines. Zines. A Love Letter Finally Delivered.
A Substack Note turned into a global collaboration.
It started with a simple post:
Zines.
Zines.
Zines.
I love zines.
Please show me more zines.
That was SLART’s Note on Substack in late December.
A spark.
A whisper of a wild idea.
And just a few weeks later, on January 21st, he officially invited the world in with a post titled The Collective Imprint.
What if we made a global zine together?
At least one page per person.
No gatekeeping. No ego. Just creative expression.
Now… after way more time than any of us expected… it’s here.
The digital edition of the Global Zine Project is officially live.

A few things I want you to know:
This started with big dreams: print editions, time capsules, local distribution.
And we still would love to do that. But for now, this is the version we could finish with the time and capacity we had.Tess McCarthy has been a powerhouse co-creator, helping organize submissions, communicate with contributors, and keep this project alive when life got hectic.
And SLART 🧿 ? None of this would exist without him.
He didn’t just rally people. He reminded us that zines are still one of the most honest, human, creative formats out there.
So what’s inside?
A one-time-only collection of mostly single-page works by dozens of contributors.
Visual art. Poems. Essays. Comics. Photos.
All centered around one prompt:
What does creativity look like in 2025, especially when we step away from the screen?
This is a celebration of analog expression in a digital world.
A living archive.
A messy, beautiful, heart-filled zine we made together.
Go check it out. Share it. Archive it. Pass it on.
We hope it’s the first of many.
But even if it’s the only one, it was worth it.
